VIDT Datalink: limitless compatibility between businesses and blockchains
How the VIDT API, VIDT Private Cloud & VIDT Smart Contract will seamlessly anchor data from any publisher platform and cloud service to multiple blockchains
Being able to connect cloud services is a priority towards near endless connectivity possibilities of the VIDT platform. This enables any high-volume business platform to effortlessly certify large numbers of documents using the VIDT BSC Tech.
VIDT Datalink has the ability to integrate the IBM Cloud service into the data certification flow. Thanks to the VIDT API (sensor) data can be certified while going through the IBM Cloud. In addition, the certified data is sent through IBM Watson for anomaly detection and AI powered analysis (pattern predictions for example) using a Node-Red node.
The success of the IBM Cloud integration has proven that it is feasible. This means that cloud services from other cloud providers, like AWS or Azure will be able to connect to the VIDT API as well. Below, we explain how all this ties together.
1: Integrators/Publishers are organisations and creators of files or data. The creation of documents or data can be done using services or hardware devices. These can be anything from an ERP platform, like SAP, to hardware connected with Industrial Ethernet, or even to a single IoE fine dust sensor placed by a volunteer.
2: These publishers can be linked to any cloud service, which then connects to the VIDT API. The integration of these services is a breeze with our extensive documentation.
Only the files’ (encrypted) fingerprints are stored in the blockchain. This ensures privacy and GDPR compliance. However, some VIDT Integrators also offer to include a cloud storage service into the certification process to store the actual files.
Another route to eventual blockchain anchoring is to connect directly with the VIDT BEP20 smart contract, for instance with a DAPP or B2C app.
3: The third option for publishers is to connect with the VIDT API directly.
4: The VIDT API is the most efficient, cost effective and straightforward way to use the VIDT Datalink integrity platform. It is fully compatible with all major programming languages, and therefore easy to link to any business software platform.
5: The VIDT Private Cloud’s main function is to provide all resources for enterprise system integration of VIDT functionality.
6: The VIDT BEP20 Smart Contract fulfils multiple tasks each time a file is anchored. It identifies the publisher (issuer), stores the (encrypted) hash of the file in the transaction itself (transaction tree), the smart contract (state tree) and optionally in the receipt tree (to be used directly in a wallet client or DAPP). Moreover, it checks the payment and transfers the amount in VIDT directly to the Validation Wallet.
7: Additional anchoring is facilitated on other blockchains. Currently VIDT Datalink offers anchoring in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Digibyte and Binance Smart Chain. The choice to include one or more of these chains in the anchoring process depends on the use cases’ required security (number of nodes plays a big part), costs per transaction, and speed.
Security and speed for any size
VIDT Datalink is the ultimate architecture to handle any volume of files, with any level of secure blockchain anchoring, all with sufficient speed. The ease of integration with the VIDT API combined with limitless compatibility with other business software and optional cloud storage results in an extremely low barrier for adoption.
Data integrity is the most important factor in our digitising society, and VIDT Datalink makes integrating it into existing processes a breeze.
